Steps of TCS recruitment process:
TCS recruitment process consists of 4 steps
- Written Round
- Technical Round
- Managerial Round
- HR Round
Written Round:
Written round consists of 4 sections and total tome allotted is 90 minutes.
- Quantitative Aptitude Test: The first is Quantitative Aptitude Test which consists of 20 questions to be attempted in 40 minutes. These questions are numerical and reasoning to test the ability and proficiency of applicants. There are 2-star questions which have more weight than normal questions and are a bit tricky than others. There is negative marketing of 1/3rd questions but not for star ones.
- Programming Language Test: The second round is Programming Language Test which consists of 10-12 questions to be attempted in 20 minutes. This in an MCQ round which consists of basic programming questions.
- Coding Round: This is a technical which consists of 1-2 questions to be attempted in 20 minutes.
- Email writing: The time allotted for this round is 10 minutes. Some clues or words will be given and based on these you will have to write an e-mail addressing the situation.
- Be careful while attempting email writing round as this this is an elimination round. Make sure you follow every given instruction while attempting this round.
Note: Students with more than 8.5 or 80 % respectively have to just appear for the verbal section i.e., the email writing.
The students with rank under 1000 in Coding round 1 will be allowed to skip the written round and appear directly for interviews.
Technical Round:
The students who cleared written will be selected for technical round. This is a face-to-face round. This round is based on you resume, branch of specialization, favourite subjects, etc. You must be clear with the basics and must be prepared to answer questions related to Data structures and Algorithms, DBMS, Operating System, Networking, OOPs concepts and a programming language of your choice. Dear CS students, don’t be surprised if you are asked to write a code. Also be prepared to answer puzzle questions.
Managerial Round:
A lot depends on your interviewer in this round. It includes everything which was asked in technical round along with this it will be under pressure and a lot of cross-checking. Doubts will be raised on your answers to check if you can handle stress or not. Achievements on your CV could be questioned. Students may or may not be sent to this round depending on the feedback of the previous round. Key for this round is to be calm, confident, clear on your thoughts and to not give up on pressure.
HR Round:
This is the final round of recruitment process. This might include any questions related to your family, education, hobbies, work experience, general knowledge. Personal questions like strengths and weaknesses, reasons for applying to the company, why should we hire you? If any problem in relocation etc. might be asked in this round.
Most candidate think that HR interview is easy, but remember a bad interview can end your chances to your dream job. The key is to remain polite and confident and always wear a smile!

TCS Eligibility criteria for freshers 2021
- Age: Students should be of 18 to 28 years of age to participate in the TCS Off Campus. Hiring process.
- Highest Qualification: Students should have completed their education in the stipulated course duration.
- Backlogs/ Arrears/ ATKT: Students should not have any pending backlogs to apply.
- Gap/ Break-in Education: It is to be noted that an overall gap of two years in the academic year is permitted. Further, it is mandatory to declare gaps in education if any. The overall academic gap should not exceed 24 months until the highest qualification. Relevant document proof are mandatory, and will be checked for gaps in education.
- Percentage: The candidate must secure Minimum aggregate (all subjects in all semesters) marks of 60% or 6 CGPA in each of Class Xth, Class XIIth, Diploma (if applicable), Graduation and Post-Graduation examination is required.
- Course Type: Only full-time courses will be considered (part-time/correspondence courses will not be considered). Students who have completed their Secondary and/or Senior Secondary course from NIOS (National Institute of Open Schooling) are also eligible to apply if the other courses are full-time. Students from B.E./ B.Tech/ M.E./ M.Tech./ MCA/ M.Sc from any specialization offered by a recognized university/ college are eligible.
- Work Experience: Students with prior work experience of up to 2 years are eligible to apply for the TCS Off Campus Hiring Process and candidate should not exceed more than 3 years.
- Certification in several Programming Languages will be considered a bonus.
